I have been performing in front of people for 33 years now and it gives me a great perspective on the business of theater ... it’s a crazy business, and yet the way that shows are put together and the structure of theater can offer some great insights or tips and inspiring employees and getting a group to work towards a common goal, which is what any business is all about ... the business of theater and the theater of business ... I’ve been studying it all my life.
For thirty-one years David Silverman has specialized in one thing: connecting with people. Be it on a stand-up comedy stage, (he won the first Seattle Laugh-off in 1980), or in a theater, (he’s worked in every major Seattle venue, from the Seattle Rep to the Fifth Avenue Theater to the Seattle Opera). He has entertained people as a tap dancer, singer, actor and performed for countless corporate groups as a mock expert. His client list reads like a who’s-who of Northwest businesses. He has spoken to a wide range of audiences, every one from rotary groups, and trial lawyers to high-schoolers for career seminars. An accomplished emcee, David keeps meetings moving along and on track yet makes sure that the audience is always engaged and never bored.

With a unique background in improv and musical comedy, he is probably one of the best traveled actors you will ever meet. David has climbed Mt Rainier, Mt Kilimanjaro and Machu Picchu: his travel stories are entertaining as well as insightful and inspiring. An avid athlete, David has worked out for forty years. His philosophy on the mind-body connection is helpful to a variety of aspiring performers as well as encouraging to aging baby-boomers. His insights into injury management are also unique and down to earth.

David has been a free-lancer for his entire working life and gives his audiences a view into the reality of making a living as a working actor. His abilities to discuss a wide range of topics make him a great addition to any gathering, be it travel, public speaking, or theater-business interplay, David can come into any group, find out who they are and entertain and inform. These are the qualities that have kept him working for so long.
